How to stop muscle spasms you can FEEL coming?
I usually get muscle spasms every couple of months, it is usually when it hurts the most; when I'm sleeping. I had some spasms last night in my calf (I think that's what the thing on the bottom parts of your leg are right?) and I could feel them coming and this morning I still have the feeling they are ready to come back. How do I stop this?
Sounds like a charley horse. These can occur when your muscles are tired or overused, or be chronic in conditions such as electrolyte imbalance (usually a potassium deficiency) or nerve impingement.
You should see your doctor. You need an exam and lab work to see if this is being caused by some type of electrolyte or nerve problem. If it's not, your doctor or health care provider can provide you with a stretching and exercise plan that should alleviate the symptoms.
